The ARA has lodged a submission to the NSW Net Zero Commission to inform its advice to government on transport decarbonisation.

The submission calls for dedicated freight mode shift targets from road to rail to support transport decarbonisation, calling for an incentive scheme to support greater use of rail freight.

It also advocates for national coordination on heavy transport decarbonisation, which is critical to provide investment certainty and accelerate emissions reduction in freight and regional passenger rail.
