The Australasian Railway Association (ARA) is a proud member of Champions of Change Coalition, a globally recognised initiative focused on advancing gender equality and increasing the representation of women in leadership roles across various industries.
The Coalition, founded in 2010 by Elizabeth Broderick AO, brings together over 260 CEOs from diverse sectors who are committed to driving meaningful change within their organisations and the broader community.
As part of the newly formed Champions of Change Rail Group, the ARA is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. The Rail Group consists of 10 members with more than 32,000 employees collectively across the Australian rail industry. It represents senior leaders from passenger and freight rail operators and providers of integrated rail infrastructure networks and is dedicated to developing women leaders at every level and enabling more women to pursue careers in the rail industry.
Champions of Change Coalition emphasises action and accountability, with members leading by example to create cultures where everyone feels respected, valued and equal. By working collaboratively with other leaders in the Rail Group, the ARA is contributing to a national effort to achieve inclusive gender equality within one generation, ensuring that our industry not only thrives, but also reflects the diversity and potential of our society.
