More than 200 New Zealand representatives from the rail industry will gather in Auckland next week to discuss priorities and the latest innovations at the Australasian Railway Association’s major networking event of the year.

KiwiRail, Martinus, Downer, Auckland One Rail, Systra, ANZ, John Holland, Siemens, TransDev and Frauscher, who are the platinum sponsors, are among the rail organisations attending the ARA’s long-awaited Rail Industry Networking Dinner on June 20, which is close to selling out.

ARA CEO Caroline Wilkie said it is a really exciting time for the ARA to be in New Zealand.

“While in New Zealand, the ARA will be meeting with representatives in rail to map out the top priorities and how we can work together with government and industry to support a thriving and sustainable rail industry,” Ms Wilkie said.

“The ARA is the peak body for Australia and New Zealand rail and we look forward to supporting local rail organisations to address issues such as workforce, safety, sustainability and decarbonisation.

“I encourage anyone working in rail in NZ to register for this important event in the industry’s calendar and not miss the opportunity to hear about the latest innovations, share ideas and network with colleagues.”

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency Chief Executive Nicole Rosie will deliver the keynote address.

Ms Rosie has a 20-year executive career across the public and private sector, with extensive experience in transformative change, high-risk regulated industries and in health and safety. Her former leadership roles include Toll NZ, KiwiRail, Vector, Fonterra and three years as CE of Worksafe.

She currently holds several governance roles, including Director of Auckland Transport and The Establishment Unit for Light Rail Auckland, and is a steering committee member of the New Zealand Construction Accord and Let’s Get Wellington Moving.
