The ARA has made a submission in response to the National Transport Commission’s (NTC) digital train control technology discussion paper which builds on our ongoing engagement with the NTC as it advances the National Rail Action Plan.
The transition to nationally consistent digital train control technology is crucially important to improving rail productivity and efficiency, particularly for those in the freight sector currently navigating different requirements across networks and jurisdictions.
The ARA’s submission confirmed the need to develop a national coordination body with access to expert resources to implement this important transition to new technologies.
We look forward to continuing to work with industry and the NTC as plans for rail’s digital future are progressed.
The submission was delivered following extensive consultation with ARA members.
