The ARA has collaborated with rail licence holders to make a submission to the Australian Communication and Media Authority (ACMA) Expiring Spectrum Licencing, Stage 3 Preliminary Views, championing the importance of spectrum licencing for rail safety operations, compliance with Rail Safety National Law, interoperability and core network functionality.
The ARA submission emphasised that a national approach to radio systems and spectrum is essential to ensure interstate rail services can operate efficiently and effectively, improve productivity and provide economies of scale for equipment supply and procurement activities.
