The ARA’s Chair Danny Broad and General Manager – Supply Chain and Diversity, Natalie Currey visited members Gemco, Comsteel, UGL, Downer and Progress Rail in Newcastle this week for an update on rail maintenance and refurbishment work as well as new builds.
It was also pleasing to see the introduction of new technologies and continuous improvement processes and hear how some are engaging in local communities and providing supportive employment opportunities, while others are investing in large numbers of apprenticeships.
