The workforce development team met with ARA member Metro Trains Sydney last week to discuss opportunities for sharing national learning resources and developing mechanisms for a close working relationship over the first three years of Metro Trains’ operations.
The team was very fortunate to tour the maintenance centre at Tallawong and see first-hand the focus on safety and efficiency in their train maintenance during the current testing phase of this exciting new railway.
Sydney’s $21.6 billion metro rail line under the harbour and CBD will open to passengers on Sunday, August 4, transforming the city’s transport network.
The NSW government confirmed it is planning to open on August 4 for the passengers of the main section of the Metro City and Southwest line between Chatswood and Sydenham.
Transport Minister Jo Haylen told media the metro trains would be the fastest way to travel in and around Sydney’s CBD and north of the city, including across the harbour.
