The ARA’s Rail Freight Conference 2024 will showcase the industry’s leading experts in freight presenting on the latest industry updates and issues affecting the sector.
Keynote speaker Mark Mazurek, CEO of Linfox, will open the conference, to be held in Sydney from Tuesday, 9 April to Wednesday, 10 April, and will focus on trends and market demands impacting freight customers and freight forwarders.
NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Jenny Aitchison will give the opening address on the second day of the conference.
Other speakers include National Rail Safety Regulator and Chief Executive of the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR), Natalie Pelham, who will give an update on ONRSR’s 2024 priorities and Australia’s vision for national rail reform; ARTC CEO Wayne Johnson, the Chair of the National Transport Commission (NTC) Carolyn Walsh; Paula Stagg, A/Dept Secretary of DITRDCA, who is presenting on the National Freight and Supply Chain Strategy and Inland Rail CEO Nick Miller.
The following dedicated rail freight site visits will be conducted on Monday 8 April, prior to the conference:
- Botany Rail Line Duplication
- The Moorebank Intermodal precinct
- Patrick Terminals – Sydney AutoStrad, Port Botany
- Transport for NSW ETCS Test Lab at Clyde Integrated Test Lab
Attendees are expected to include rail freight operators, heavy haul operators, track owners, operators and maintainers, industry suppliers, consultants, engineers and technical experts.
