The ARA’s General Manager – Freight and Heavy Haul, Georgia Nicholls, was keynote speaker at the Institute of Railway Signalling Engineers (IRSE) annual Technical Meeting, held in Melbourne, on Friday 21 March.
Georgia presented a comprehensive update on the ARA’s advocacy agenda and outlined our extensive program of work to support the rail industry.
The ARA also hosted a stall at the IRSE conference, and met with both experienced railway signalling engineers and many new to the industry.
The theme of the conference was Signalling Capability and several talks touched on competencies required within the Australian railway signalling industry.
There was a great level of interest in ARA events, including professional courses run by the ARA – such as the new Professional Certificate in Rail which took its first cohort this month and will be starting again in June.
