This week Simon Bourke, General Manager – Advocacy and New Zealand, met with Delaney Myers, CEO of the Bus and Coach Association New Zealand, to discuss our organisations’ priorities and whether there may be opportunities for collaboration.

It became clear from the discussion that there were many more similarities than differences in the issues our two industries are grappling with in New Zealand, in particular the need to have an appropriately funded and maintained integrated transport network. Information was exchanged on our respective activities to address challenges around workforce planning, emissions reduction, safety and operational issues, as well as prioritisation of government investment.

The ARA and Bus and Coach Association New Zealand have agreed to keep in regular contact and will be seeking to identify more opportunities for collaboration, particularly where there is alignment on policy and advocacy issues to strengthen the effectiveness of our engagement with government.
