The Passenger Operators Executive Committee’s (POEC) Telecommunications Committee has submitted the Ministerial Policy Statement (MPS) on expiring spectrum licences to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).  

This comprehensive document emphasises the criticality of radio spectrum for railway operations, advocating for renewal and clear conditions to support rail safety and control communications. It also addresses licensing specifics, future needs and the impact on key rail functions like emergency calls and signalling systems. We continue to engage with ACMA on these important telecommunications issues.
