The ARA hosted Infrastructure Contractors in our first Meet the Buyer session for the year this week.

This series has been a valuable way for suppliers to engage directly with procurers and receive the latest information on planned procurements and opportunities for the supply chain.

We were joined by Sydney Trains and provided with an update on the annual works program and rail repair plans, including major remodelling projects over the next few years. Queensland Rail shared the forecasted investment on infrastructure assets over the next decade that would see the uplift of Queensland Rail’s network.

It was noted they are seeking to draw on a large range of suppliers to support their upcoming projects, particularly in the consumables and materials space machinery and equipment as well as rail support systems.

Inland Rail did a joint presentation with John Holland and shared program status updates on key pieces of work including for tier 2 and tier 3 opportunities. John Holland noted the upcoming work across Victoria as part of the Beveridge to Albury enhancement work, including demolition of existing structures, building new bridges, road realignment and lowing and slewing tracks as well as station precinct works in Euroa and Benalla.
