The ARA Future Leaders Program held a webinar last week aimed at increasing participants’ awareness of the impact of self-identity on leadership approaches.

Titled “Making Your Mark: Who We Are is How We Lead, the webinar was hosted by Future Leaders Program facilitator Dr Polly McGee, of Disruptive Consulting. It explored how personal identity influences professional interactions, encouraging participants to deepen their self-awareness and leadership approach.

The Future Leaders Program, proudly sponsored by Speno, is an exclusive leadership program, equipping young emerging leaders with the concepts, tools, networks and self-awareness needed for a successful leadership journey.

Webinar participants also learned strategies to strengthen their networking skills by identifying shared values and building authentic connections.

Through an identity mapping exercise, participants uncovered their unique strengths and gained clarity on their purpose, helping them forge more meaningful relationships and support their personal and career growth.

The webinar also featured guest presenter Zlatko (Giano) Terzic, a seasoned manager with experience both within and beyond the rail industry. He shared insights on how fostering positive relationships has consistently led to more successful project outcomes, regardless of the context.
