Last week the ARA’s General Manager – Workforce Development, Fiona Love, and Capability and Learning Design Manager, Renae Fardon, visited Perth to meet with the Logistics and Defence Training Council, the Public Transport Authority, RemSmart and Edith Cowan University.

One of the highlights of the trip was working with the trainers and learning specialists at North Metro TAFE to share with them the Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) course that the ARA is building for the Pilbara Heavy Haul operators. The SARC course that is being jointly developed by the ARA industry partners will be delivered by North Metro TAFE and will be the first time that multiple Rail Infrastructure Managers (RIMs) have recognised each other’s nationally accredited SARC course. The development of this course supports national priorities identified in the National Rail Action to improve safety and productivity.
