The ARA Queesland Rail Industry Networking Lunch last Friday was a great success, with more than 300 people attending and an informative panel discussion on the future of South-East Queensland transport.

ARA CEO Caroline Wilkie and ARA Chair Lucio Di Bartolomeo visited the Queensland Rail Management Centre (RMC) on Friday 28 March. The purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility integrates train control, network operations, customer communication and security under one roof.

The visit offered a first-hand look at the operational heart of the South East Queensland rail network, which serves nearly one million passenger journeys each week.

The RMC is a leading example of how integrated systems and real-time data are improving the safety, efficiency and reliability of public transport. With a capacity to manage large-scale network incidents, and information about Queensland Rail’s proud history, the Centre reflects the strength of collaboration, innovation and long-term planning in action.

Thank you to ARA Board Director Kat Stapleton for arranging the visit, and Neil Backer and the Queensland Rail team for hosting and for showcasing the important work taking place to keep Queensland moving.
