The ARA hosted our Freight and Heavy Haulers in our first Meet the Buyer session for the year this week.  

This series has been a valuable way for suppliers to engage directly with procurers and receive the latest information on planned procurements and opportunities for the supply chain. 

We were joined by One Rail who talked about their expansive haulage work in Queensland and NSW and their priorities for procurement in the next few months, including a specific focus on locomotive and wagon maintenance, rollingstock overhaul and refurbishments as well as optimising tools and software (with a specific focus on fleet crew and scheduling).  

ARTC’S Tony Murphy shared further insight into the resilience work ARTC is focusing on, to address the impact of severe weather events. Tony noted the recent investment from the federal government and ARTC of over $1 billion including a focus on culvert upgrades and re railing works. Roy Hill shared insight into their operations in Port Hedland and noted their commitment to the community.
