Key Responsibilities: 

• Oversee KiwiRail’s financial performance and reduce dependency on Crown funding 

• Engage with key stakeholders, including freight haulers, port companies, staff, and Crown agencies 

• Implement initiatives from the ‘Transformation Plan’ to improve service reliability and achieve commercial sustainability 

Requirements: 

• Proven ability to navigate the machinery of government and understand Crown-Māori relations and Treaty obligations 

• Relevant legal and regulatory experience 

• Dedication to robust health and safety outcomes and ESG principles
