The ARA has held its first Sustainability Reporting Working Group to bring together the industry to discuss new and upcoming sustainability reporting requirements. 

The working group was established following the ARA’s Sustainability Reporting Workshop late last year, which identified the need for greater clarity on upcoming reporting requirements, a focus on data quality and assurance, and consideration of the resourcing impacts of increased reporting. 

Members discussed preparations for new ASSB sustainability reporting requirements to take effect in the next financial year and explored opportunities to develop guidance for boundary setting and reporting of Scope 3 emissions in the rail industry.
