The ARA’s General Manager – Passenger Rail and Safety Jesse Baker met with V/Line CEO Matt Carrick and Director Customer Services & Accessibility, Michael Brady.

With fare caps in place in Victoria for a year now, regional rail travel has never been more popular. The high patronage V/Line is enjoying is a great demonstration that Australians really do want to travel by rail. High on the list of V/Line’s priorities is security – security of passengers, staff and network. Security is an area where the ARA helps to ensure a coordinated effort, and the attention of key decision makers. The ARA manages the cross industry Anti-Social Behaviour Network and are supporting CMET in a security forum being planned for October. V/Line is also on the ARA’s Passenger Operators Executive Committee. While in Melbourne, Jesse also met with Metro Trains Melbourne’s Multi Modal Authorised Officers Manager and V/Line’s Executive Director, Safety, Sustainability & Risk.
