The ARA is hosting a site tour to the Gold Coast Light Rail Depot and Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) Ormeau rail facility following the AusRAIL 2024 conference.
The 45-minute light rail guided tour will feature the operations and maintenance of the high-performing depot and provide an overview of the Operational Control Centre, maintenance workshop and upgrade plans for extensions to the depot as part of the Stage 3 extension works. There will be an opportunity to ask questions of the leadership team on the Gold Coast and how the team continues to set records in performance reliability whilst being guided around the depot.
The other tour to the QTMP Ormeau rail facility site will give participants the chance to see construction underway on this critical project. Downer has been awarded the contract to deliver the QTMP, including a rail facility for train maintenance and stabling at Ormeau. More info at QTMP.
