The ARA’s national Telecommunications Committee met on Tuesday to share updates from jurisdictions and railways on various projects underway. 

The ARTC provided a briefing on the National Train Communications System (NTCS) and ICE 4G updates. We discussed with the committee recent engagement with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), which is important to our efforts for the spectrum licence renewal process over the coming years. This is an essential aspect to the rail industry which the ARA is progressing.  

We also collectively discussed among Committee members the latest submission being drafted for ACMA on “Our approach to radiocommunications licencing and allocation 2024”, due early next month. Thank you to all those who contributed to these important discussions.
