The ARA’s Chair Danny Broad will attend the fourth meeting of the Rail Industry Innovation Council in Perth on February 19 to progress the delivery of the National Rail Manufacturing Plan to help grow a more globally competitive rail manufacturing sector locally.

Along with the Council Chair and National Rail Manufacturing Advocate Jacqui Walters, the Council will also be undertaking site visits, meeting with rail stakeholders and seeking to better understand local rail capabilities and how best to support their growth and expansion.

The Australian Government’s National Rail Manufacturing Plan is a key feature of the Future Made in Australia election commitment.  The Council provides strategic advice to Government on innovation priorities and facilitates practices to increase competitiveness in the rail manufacturing sector.

The Council will enhance Australia’s competitiveness in rail-related research and development, commercialisation and rate of technology adoption.
