The ARA is commissioning a new research report that will be seeking to analyse the future skills requirements for the New Zealand rail sector, as well as develop a deeper understanding of the capability in the sector and the capacity to fulfil the skills requirements.

The report will also be seeking to better understand the diversity profile of the sector and explore opportunities for further improvement.

It is expected that the final report will provide detailed analysis of the skills and workforce landscape for the New Zealand rail sector, with a series of recommendations for both industry and government. The report will be used as a robust evidence base to advocate for policies that ensure we have a skilled, diverse, and capable workforce to meet the future needs of the New Zealand rail sector.

To assist with funding this important new research project, the ARA is offering a sponsorship opportunity to organisations that have an interest in a strong and skilled workforce for rail in New Zealand.
