The ARA, together with the National Women in Transport, is inviting the rail industry to join the launch event of its report ‘Progressing gender equality in the Australasian rail industry’ on Wednesday 17 July in Sydney.
The ARA in partnership with the National Women in Transport engaged Diversity Partners to undertake research to:
- Thoroughly investigate the barriers and challenges hindering women’s entry, retention and progression in the rail industry;
- Explain the benefits and advantages of achieving gender parity and fostering women’s leadership within the rail industry;
- Explore practical best practice initiatives and provide actionable recommendations that can be implemented across the rail industry to foster greater gender diversity and allow women to thrive and lead, drawing inspiration from successful practices in various industries both within Australia and globally.
The launch event will be held 9:30-11:30am Wednesday 17th July at Customer Central Level 3, 477 Pitt St, Sydney.
This will be a free event where industry leaders and employees are encouraged to gather to hear the findings of the Diversity Partners research of employees’ experiences in the rail industry; the barriers to attraction, retention and progression; and learn how they can implement best practice initiatives in their organisations and across industry. The ARA will also share how it intends to respond to the recommendations regarding further efforts to improve diversity and inclusion.
Please register your attendance by Thursday 11 July here.
