The ARA held a stakeholder roundtable last Friday with freight members and industry participants to consult and inform a whole-of-industry submission, together with the Freight on Rail Group (FORG), to the NSW Freight Policy Reform Program.
Key topics discussed include infrastructure priorities, harmonisation across networks including seamless pathing, rollingstock approvals and environmental regulation. The ARA will be formulating clear recommendations as part of the submission, with a focus on calling for greater harmonisation across infrastructure, a stronger model for ongoing industry engagement, and a clear actionable implementation plan with robust freight sector KPIs.
The ARA will also be contributing to the Victoria Freight Strategy Review due at the end of June. We will hold another stakeholder consultation session in the coming weeks.
