In June, the ARA, on behalf of industry, made a submission to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) on current and potential future uses of the radio spectrum for rail safety and control communications, and how these promote long-term public interest.
ACMA has since provided the opportunity to comment on other submissions being made. Of the c25 submissions ACMA received from various stakeholders, the ARA submission responded to 15, in many instances showing support for comments that had been made, but also outlining why approaches favoured by some stakeholders will not work for rail. This dialogue with ACMA is critical to securing the spectrum access upon which our operations depend.
