The ARA will launch its Rollingstock Decarbonisation Critical Path report in Sydney on Monday, 15 July. This essential project sets out the technology pathways to phase out diesel rollingstock, and confirms the policy, regulatory, skills and investment requirements that will need to be progressed to enable the rail industry’s transition to net zero operations. The report identifies eight priority actions to support the transition of the nation’s rollingstock fleet and demonstrates how collaborative action can fast track our progress.
The launch event will include an overview of the key findings and recommendations of the report and feature a panel discussion with industry members on decarbonisation actions already underway, as well as actions needed in the near to medium term to ensure the sustainable future of rollingstock.
