The ARA’s Passenger Operators Executive Committee (POEC) has been repurposed post-COVID to focus on ways to further increase rail patronage.

Most railways around the country are again enjoying very high levels of patronage, which is an encouraging sign that our customers’ confidence has returned. However, there is more we can do to better serve commuters and holiday makers. This repurposed committee (under the POEC umbrella) met for the first time on Wednesday to discuss how we can work together to achieve higher patronage on our networks and make the most of the work already underway. This is a fantastic initiative to enhance our passenger operations.

POEC is made up of the CEOs and managing directors of all of the major passenger rail companies around the country and oversees an extensive program of work concerning issues that are common to all networks.
