The newly elected Rail Industry Executive Committee (RIEC) held its Q4 meeting on Tuesday 19 November 2024, where it discussed the demographics of ARA supply chain members, how to best engage with the newly established Large and Small to Medium Enterprise Reference Groups to receive input into the RIEC strategy and feedback on initiatives.

RIEC also reviewed the recent strategic areas of focus, recent research and status of activities, and received presentation updates from NTC, ONRIC and the Victorian Rail Advocate.

The RIEC will be considering short-term and medium-term strategic actions, noting work completed and underway by RIEC as well as other organisations, such as NTC and ONRIC, to ensure complementarity.

The ARA will survey RIEC and supply chain members to receive feedback on areas of priority and on specific initiatives (such as Supplier Spotlight and Meet the Buyer) that were conducted in the past 12 months to consider as part of its forward agenda.

RIEC members also appointed Mark Carling, MD of Unipart to be the RIEC Chair for the two-year term. As RIEC Chair, Mark is also Industry Sector Director on the ARA Board.
