This week ARA hosted the industry’s passenger operators CEOs and other senior leaders from around the country, in our quarterly Passenger Operators Executive Committee (POEC) meeting.

The group received updates from all of the committees under the POEC umbrella (i.e. Telecommunications, Customer Focus, Accessibility, Antisocial Behaviour, Cybersecurity and Revenue Protection) and other important ARA activity, including progress in the areas of workforce development, diversity (including the Male Allies, & Champions of Change programs), sustainability, supply chains, safety. We discussed how we are promoting our industry as a rewarding place to work, and our broader government relations and advocacy efforts.

The forum covered local passenger operations issues such as Queensland’s new fare caps, as well as international events such as the attack on French railways as they host the Olympics. This important forum is a terrific example of our industry working together to achieve fantastic outcomes for Australia’s travelling public.
