The ARA’s Interoperability Working Group was recently joined by Dominic L’Huillier, the National Transport Commissions Head of Rail Productivity. Dominic gave an overview of the five priority areas for reform which include: the development of a national standards framework, aligning train control and signalling, streaming rollingstock approvals, reducing the regulatory skills train burden and future rail skills.
The working group is looking forward to continuing its advocacy in 2024 on the interoperability of signalling integration and rollingstock approvals, which will complement the work being done by the NTC.
