Last week the ARA and National Women in Transport held six focus groups as part of our Gender Diversity in Rail research. We were joined by representatives across the industry, including suppliers, passenger operators, consultants, freight and heavy haul sectors and infrastructure contractors who openly shared their lived experiences.

Participants also shared individual experiences and observations and discussed good practices across industry, as well as challenges faced across the industry.

We would like to thank all of the participants who attended the focus groups, provided written responses and completed the survey for their strong and courageous advocacy. Your contributions will help us shape the future of the rail industry and we look forward to sharing the report when it is finalised in coming months.
