This week we hosted our latest ARA’s Telecommunications Committee where we discussed the progress of the working group on interoperability between national and state radio systems, as well as jurisdictional / organisational updates on initiatives underway around the country.
We discussed the committee’s recent submission to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) on the industry’s expiring spectrum licenses covering such issues as our current and planned use of spectrum, and especially the efficiency with which we use it, the way our usage promotes investment and innovation and enhances competition, and the way it benefits the public and supports Government policy objectives.
It was very pleasing to get an update from ARTC on the positive progress being made on the National Train Communications System (NTCS) and the ICE 4G upgrade, too.
