ARA General Manager – Rail Freight and Heavy Haul Georgia Nicholls was interviewed by ABC Radio North Queensland’s Susan Graham-Ryan 🎤 last Friday on the importance of continued investment in rail infrastructure resilience in the wake of the recent flooding, as well as the challenges and opportunities for getting more freight on rail.

Queensland’s North Coast line boasts around 53 per cent of freight volumes on rail, according to the ARA’s Future of Freight report, with rail contributing strongly to the movement of a rapidly growing export task and regional population.

Queensland Rail demonstrated deep network knowledge and targeted deployment of resources to recover track infrastructure quickly.
