The ARA has been working very closely with the National Transport Commission (NTC) on progressing interoperability as part of the National Rail Action Plan.
The NTC is now publicly consulting on the proposed amendment to the Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) Regulations to include the regulatory requirement for rail transport operators to have an Interoperability Management Plan.
This requirement proposes that rail transport operators with railway operations on the National Network for Interoperability (NNI) consider national interoperability when planning changes to their railway operations.
Consultation is open for a six-week period, closing Friday 4 October. Further details and a link to the consultation documents can be found on the NTC website.
