Young Rail Professionals

Rail has entered an exciting period as a result of unprecedented investment and expansion. This transformation provides rail with the unique opportunity to embrace change and improve age diversity in the rail workforce.
The ARA with the support of industry members have been holding Young Rail Professionals Forums across the country to recognise the value, importance and qualities of young professionals in the rail sector. Discussions have focused around the job and organisational aspects that attract and retain young professionals and the value of new skills and fresh perspective and energy.
In addition the ARA is partnering with members to promote rail as a rewarding career with its diversity of roles and various entry pathways. The ARA is exhibiting at the Australian Careers Service events around Australia in 2018 and has advertised in the Good Careers Guide. For more information visit:
Collectively, the rail sector must harness the right skills required for the future, to ensure the industry's viability and relevance.
There are a number of young rail professional networks across Australia that you can get involved with including in Victoria the Young Transport Professionals.

The Young Transport Professionals (YTP) is run by a voluntary committee, that was established in 2014 and provides a forum for young people working in, or interested in rail and related transport industries.
