Rail Careers Week

The rail industry is one of Australia’s largest employers, supporting over 200,000 jobs. It has a strong and prosperous future and plays an important role in reducing carbon emissions, relieving congestion, improving health and safety, connecting communities and driving economic growth across Australasia. With an undoubtable commitment to workplace diversity it is an excellent choice for people of all ages, backgrounds and experience. Yet despite the benefits and opportunities, few candidates think about rail when searching for a career.

Rail Careers Week is an Australasian Rail Industry initiative that sees operators across the country come together to promote careers in rail. It offers a unique insight into the rail industry and its diverse and interesting careers and aims to encourage people to consider the rail industry as a place to work and advance their career.

Rail Careers Week 2016

Rail Careers Week wrapped up on Sunday 18 September! The 2016 campaign was another great success with rail organisations coming together to celebrate the diverse and interesting careers within the rail industry and encouraging people to consider rail as a place to work and advance their career.
