This year’s annual Rail Careers Week has kicked-off today in Australia and New Zealand and will be running until 24 November to encourage individuals to consider a career in the rail sector. This year’s theme is ‘Rail – The place to be’.
Rail Careers Week will officially be launched by the Australasian Railway Association’s (ARA) Chief Executive Officer, Danny Broad on day one (Tuesday, 21 November) of AusRAIL PLUS 2017, the Australasian rail industry’s preeminent conference and exhibition.
As major investment continues to grow in new and exciting rail infrastructure projects, the increased demand for skilled and talented individuals are welcomed to join us in an expanding international industry with an abundance of opportunities.
“With over $100 billion being committed by Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments over the next 15 to 20 years, there is a growing need of professionals required within the rail sector,” said Danny Broad, Chief Executive Officer, Australasian Railway Association.
“Job opportunities within the rail sector are extensive, diverse and open to all people.
“There is plenty of support provided through training and development regardless of your education or work experience.
“With the rail industry in a period of expansion, it’s a great time to be involved in the sector. There’s no better time to join. Rail - It’s the place to be.
“As part of Rail Careers Week, the ARA is hosting secondary school students from Queensland to join the rail industry at the Australasian rail industry’s preeminent conference and exhibition - AusRAIL PLUS 2017.
“Students who will be joining us at AusRAIL PLUS 2017 will hear from young rail professionals and engage in guided tours of exhibitors throughout the three days of the conference,” Danny Broad concluded.
