Communications and Engagement Officer
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a communications professional to join our team as we embark on new projects that will change the way we engage with our members. With a new website and member database to be launched in the next 12 months, this is a rare chance to work on these major projects from the beginning to help shape our communications and engagement program. Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Affairs & Membership, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent industry voice across the ARA’s communications and engagement activities to support the delivery of our strategy.
 
You will thrive on working in a busy, deadline driven environment to deliver high quality communications across a range of channels. You are known for your integrity, accountability and curiosity and are looking for a role that will allow you to continue to build on your existing skills.
 
This position leads the coordination of our weekly enewsletter and EDM schedule and maintains our website, social media channels and member database. You will be confident working across a range of channels and ensure these platforms are regularly updated and maintained in line with our brand.
 
You will have demonstrated experience working in a communications role, with an ability to deliver targeted communications and engagement plans that get results. Strong organisational skills are essential, while some experience using InDesign is preferred.

General Manager – Events, Engagement and Partnerships
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a events and partnerships specialist to lead the events and industry engagement program for the Australasian Railway Association (ARA). This is a unique chance to develop a new partnership program to deliver a strong calendar of events that meets the needs of a diverse membership base across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Director – Corporate Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the ARA’s events and programs are an essential part of the development and growth of the industry and its people.
 
Committed to building strong and productive partnerships, you will be someone that succeeds in building a network of suppliers and partners that can help bring our events program to life. With strong commercial acumen, you will ensure our events program generates income to support the ARA’s activities and helps build our brand and reputation with key stakeholders. You will have demonstrated experience managing a relationship with a Professional Conference Organiser, while also supporting events managed by ARA partners.
 
This position leads the coordination of dinners, lunches and education courses as well as major events like our national conference AusRAIL, so we are looking for someone who enjoys variety and can deliver results in a dynamic environment. You will have at least 10 years of events and project management experience that includes large events where you were responsible for revenue generation. You will have experience managing teams and a proven track record in the financial management of events.
